Stimulate蜂巢式軟墊可藉其本身之彈性及輕重量蜂巢體使身體壓力消除，使身心舒暢，此軟墊有三層蜂巢，每層硬度不同，因之可使突出之身骨自由地座落在軟墊上。

本軟墊之優點：

（5）本軟墊可配用失禁(incontinence)墊，可將失禁墊放在軟墊下方及遮蓋層內部，這樣可使流液經過軟墊排除使皮膚長久保持乾燥。
（6）Stimulate蜂巢式軟墊可藉壓力支配法來抵抗褥瘡產生。由於濕水再加上壓力、剪力及浸軟，使皮膚軟化因而造成褥瘡，本軟墊可消除壓力、減少剪力、因之可解決浸軟問題，也因藉用本軟墊蜂巢孔可使空氣流通並可使濕氣蒸發。
（7）可呼吸之遮蓋層織物可形成一個特殊軟墊通風系統，可使使用人保持涼爽及乾燥，因L&S蜂巢式輪椅軟墊可控制溫度及潮濕，因此可防止浸軟現象。
TOTAL PRESSURE MANAGEMENT
- The Stimulite Classic Cushion utilizes flexible, lightweight honeycomb to provide excellent pressure relief and unsurpassed comfort. Three layers of honeycomb – each a different stiffness – enable bony protuberances to sink freely into the cushion while supporting the surrounding anatomy. The result: a remarkable form of internal contouring (1) that provides uniform load distribution and exceptional stability. Stiffer honeycomb is used to create internal side bolsters (2) for added support.
- Weighing less than 3 pounds (3), the Stimulite Classic Cushion is made from thermoplastic urethane, a medical grade material that is antifungal and antibacterial, so the cushion naturally resists odor. Both the honeycomb cushion and its cover are machine washable and can even be placed in the dryer (4). Ideal for incontinence, Stimulite cushions can be used with a Stimulite incontinence pad (5) (optional). The pad is placed beneath the inside the cover, allowing fluid to drain through the cushion while keeping the skin dry at all times.
- Stimulite cushions combat decubitus with their unique approach to Total Pressure Management. Pressure, sharing, and maceration–softening of the skin due to moisture–are the primary causes of decubitus. Stimulite cushions relieve pressure, reduce shearing, and resolve the problem of maceration. All Stimulite cushions feature a perforated honeycomb (6) which allows air to circulate and moisture to evaporate. A breathable cover fabric and side vents (7) complete the Stimulite ventilation system and keep the user cool and dry. By controlling temperature and moisture, Stimulite cushions combat skin maceration. They are the only cushions that address all causes of decubitus to provide Total Pressure Management.
Total Pressure Management-- Maceration Resistance
Skin maceration is softening of the skin as a result of continual exposure to bodily fluids or moisture. Severely softened or macerated skin is less tolerant of pressure and can lead to breakdown. Stimulite honeycomb is perforated, allowing air to circulate through the cushion and moisture to evaporate. A breathable cover wicks away moisture and helps keep the skin dry. Both the Stimulite cushion and its cover are machine washable and dryer safe, making it easy to maintain good skin hygiene.
Total Pressure Management--Pressure Relief
Honeycomb structure provides uniform load distribution. Stimulite cushions relieve pressure by distributing it away from hot spots. As a result, bony protuberances “feel ” the same pressure as the surrounding anatomy. The Stimulite Classic Cushion’s multilayered honeycomb construction–each layer a different stiffness–provides internal contouring, allowing the user’s weight to be distributed over a much wider area as compared to most pressure relief cushions.
Total Pressure Management-- Shear Force Reduction
The horizontal stiffness of a cushion material determines both its shear resistance and its stability. Too much stiffness increases shear forced, while too little decreases stability. The three-layered Stimulite cushion minimizes shearing without sacrificing stability. The compliant top layer has a low horizontal stiffness for reduced shear forces against the skin. The two bottom layers have a higher horizontal stiffness for optimal stability. The cushion’s stretchable cover works in conjunction with the honeycomb to diffuse lateral forces against the skin.

The stimulite Classic Cushion is a lightweight, maintenance-free cushion that provides excellent pressure relief. It offers the added convenience of machine washability, making it ideal for the incontinent user. The multilayered honeycombs a remarkable form of interval contouring for stability and uniform weight distribution. Perforated honeycomb allows air to circulate through the cushion and moisture to evaporate, keeping the user cool and dry. This unique ventilation system reduces skin maceration and facilitates Total Pressure Management.

Stimulite Classic/Sling Cushion
Designed for the highly slung, vinyl seat wheelchairs, the Stimulite Classic/Sling Cushion offers the same benefits as the flat bottom Stimulite cushion. Its shaped base eliminated the need for a board to level the seating surface.
A quick measurement of the user’s wheelchair will help determine if a sling bottom cushion is required. Place a straightedge across the seat rails of the wheelchair and measure the distance from the center of the straightedge to the bottom of the sling. The Stimulite Classic/Sling Cushion is recommended if the depth is over 1 inch.
